Client Services
All of our services are free of charge and confidential.
We can meet you at your home, at the LifeLines office, or wherever you

Free Treatment
Assistance with applying for free treatment through Medi-Cal’s Breast
and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program. You may also be eligible to have
all your medical costs covered.
Financial Assistance
Access to emergency funds through the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund, AvonCares,
as well as other financial grants to help pay for your rent, utility bills,
and medical expenses.
Meal Assistance
Free Safeway Gift Cards to help you buy food throughout your treatment, as well as nutrition classes on how to manage the side-effects of cancer. Help in accessing daily meals delivered to your home for you and your dependants through Project Hand is also available.
Transportation
Taxi rides through LifeLines and the American Cancer Society to help you get to and from your medical and complementary care appointments.
Care Navigation
Individual care to assist you in scheduling and going to your medical
appointments, as well as advocating on your behalf. Counseling, education,
and translation in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Toisanese are also provided.
Emotional Support
Whether you need a friend to talk to or someone to help around the house,
a Shanti volunteer will be there for you.
Complementary Care
Weekly massage at LifeLines is available. Also referrals to Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic and the Osher Center
for Integrative Medicine for free massage, acupuncture, and other complementary
therapies to relieve the side effects of breast cancer and its treatments.
Wellness and Survivorship Program
Free classes for clients including knitting, body movement, nutrition, and art therapy as well as nature outings every month. Summer and winter celebrations and survivorship programming, weekly massage, reiki and yoga also provided.
L.I.F.E. Series
The Life Immune Function Enhancement (L.I.F.E.) Program® for women with breast cancer is an intensive 12-week immune enhancement support group designed to provide the resources and support women need to access services, experience better health outcomes, and enjoy a higher quality of life.
Resource Library
A lending library of books, videos, and other materials on breast cancer,
nutrition, and complementary therapies.
Internet access is also available. Our resource center is open Mondays
10am to 1pm, Wednesdays 1pm to 5pm, and Fridays 10am to 1pm.
Referrals
To make sure you receive the best care, we will assist you in finding other
resources to meet your needs, including free hats and wigs, childcare,
housing assistance, and job placement.
