"In the Spirit of Service" Workshops
 
In the Spirit of Service workshops are designed to offer volunteer managers an opportunity to enrich relationships with volunteers, enhance volunteer management and training skills, and heighten personal satisfaction in their work.
 
SNTI's In The Spirit Of Service training package includes:
  • Pre-workshop consultation to assess the needs of the volunteer program.
  • An intensive 14-hour volunteer management workshop.
  • A copy of SNTI's Participant Manual, In the Spirit of Service for each participant.
  • Follow-up consultation and technical assistance for each participating organization, to help customize and implement volunteer training and program development strategies.
  • Ongoing education and networking via the internet through our membership program.

Participants may also want to obtain a copy of SNTI's Training Manual, Training Volunteers for Community Service: The Step-by-Step Guide of the Shanti National Training Institute (see "SNTI Publications" under the Training and Consultation area of this site).
 
In the Spirit of Service Special Edition: Honoring Healthy Aging
 
The Shanti National Training Institute is offering a series of workshops throughout California for volunteer managers in programs serving older adults. Funded by the California Wellness Foundation as part of its Healthy Aging Initiative, this three-day workshop provides volunteer managers the opportunity to address the unique issues of serving elders as they enhance their volunteer programs.
 
The training package includes an intensive two-day, workshop that explores the use of core values in the effective management of volunteers, a one-day follow-up workshop two months later to provide problem-solving and additional skills. Participants will also receive a pre-workshop consultation and up to six hours of technical assistance following the workshop.

In order to qualify you must manage a volunteer program (or supervise staff who does) that serves the needs of older adults in California. You also must commit to attend the full three-day course.
