Our internship program offers a great way to explore
a career path, gain hands-on experience, develop career skills, and receive
support and supervision from professional staff.
California Peer Educator Project (CPEP) Internship
CPEP Program Assistant: CPEP helps to build the capacity
and cultural competency of organizations to train and support skilled
minority peer educators. Participate in the production of CPEP workshops,
compile and develop training and technical assistance materials, and assist
in community outreach and marketing. More

HIV/AIDS Internships
HIV Care Coordinator: Work in our HIV Services program
and gain knowledge of San Francisco AIDS service organizations and the
psychosocial issues surrounding HIV/AIDS. Develop skills in active listening,
peer counseling, and client advocacy. Learn to conduct client intakes,
risk assessments, and how to create and implement client care plans.

HIV Peer Advocate: Work with staff within a collaboration
of AIDS organizations. Gain skills in active listening, peer counseling,
and the Shanti Model of Peer Support. Offer emotional support to clients
in the Shanti Drop-In Lounge and at collaborating agencies. Provide clients
with practical support by accompanying them to medical appointments, shopping
for groceries, and light cleaning. Apply

Breast Cancer Internships
Breast Cancer Care Coordinator: Work in our LifeLines
Program and gain knowledge of the psychosocial issues surrounding breast
cancer. Develop active listening and peer counseling skills. Gain experience
performing client intakes and risk assessments. Provide emotional support

Breast Cancer Health Promotion Coordinator: Work with
the LifeLines team to coordinate Wellness Workshops and continuing education
workshops for clients. Manage the Resource Library and research materials
focusing on breast cancer and related issues. Gain experience in outreaching
