Kaushik Roy is the Executive Director of Shanti Project, which is one of San Francisco’s oldest community-based nonprofits supporting people with cancer and HIV/AIDS. He started volunteering at Shanti in 2004, joined Shanti’s staff in 2006, and became Executive Director in 2008. In 2014, Kaushik was appointed by Mayor Edwin M. Lee to the City and County of San Francisco’s Aging and Adult Services Commission, and he previously served on San Francisco’s Palliative Care and LGBT Aging Adult Policy Task Forces. Kaushik serves on the Board of Directors for San Francisco’s Interfaith Council and is an Executive Officer of the HIV/AIDS Providers Network. He holds a B.A. from UC Berkeley, is a graduate of the Metta Institute’s End-of-Life Care Practitioner Program, and he recently completed the LeaderSpring 2-year Fellowship Program for leading change in strengthening underserved communities.
