FOOD/NUTRITION SUPPORT

Project Open Hand
The Program provides food to improve the quality of life for homebound and critically ill people, including those with breast cancer.

Meals on Wheels
Provides a network of services that allow seniors to live in their homes with dignity and independence as long as possible including: home delivered meals, grocery shoppers, menu planning, nutrition counseling

Kimochi
Japanese language-based programs and services to 3,000 Bay Area seniors and their families each year. Services include transportation; referral and outreach services; health and consumer education seminars; healthy aging and senior center activities; social services; congregate and home delivered meals; in-home support services; adult social day care; 24-hour residential and respite care. A nutritious, well-balanced, Japanese-style hot lunch is provided 5 days a week, Monday through Friday (except major holidays) in a communal-tables setting. The menu is carefully planned and prepared by our Nutritionist and staff to ensure each meal is healthy, nutritionally balanced and adequately proportioned for seniors. SF Marin Food Bank
The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is the critical link between food and people. We provide food to over 450 community partners and will distribute 48 million pounds of food to 225,000 people in need – enough for 100,000 meals a day. Includes: advocacy, CalFresh Outreach, community partnerships, college pantry, farm to family, food pharmacies, nutrition classes, mobile pantry, home delivered pantry, and neighborhood pantries.
