Shanti Project reduces isolation and improves lives by
providing compassionate care, community, and connection to
San Franciscans in great need of support.

Each year, thousands of San Franciscans face life’s biggest challenges, including aging, illness, disability, and isolation, while already struggling with systemic inequities and barriers to care. Shanti is here to ensure that our neighbors don’t have to endure these challenges alone.

Through personal connection and compassionate care, we ease the suffering of individuals who come to Shanti for support — people like Tom, who has been living with HIV since 1984; Queen, a 93-year-old woman with breast cancer; John, an LGBT senior who is legally blind; and Liz, a woman living with disabilities, and her companion dog Lexie.
